July 2002 Top ASEAN Speaker For Agency Conference

1st Life's Individual Insurance Marketing Department (IIMD) presented the Andrew Goh lecture series last July for the second agency conference. Dr. Goh presented a workshop on customer service excellence and motivational leadership for the agents and key people of 1st Life and Prudential Guarantee Assurance Inc., a sister company.

 

June 2002 1st Life Holds An Awards Night For Top Producers

First Life Financial Company, Inc. (1st Life) held its traditional awards night in early July with a grand dinner for agents, policyholders, brokers and corporate guests at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel. Senate Majority Leader Loren Legarda-Leviste and Deputy Insurance Commissioner Vida Chiong headed the guests who graced the event. Singapore-based Dr. Andrew Goh, one of Asia's most successful motivational and management trainers and invited speaker for 1st Life's mid-year agency conference, inspired the crowd with his talk on leadership and excellence.



The Gawad Kagitingan is 1st Life's unique award launched in 1993 to distinguish the top company agents in terms of productivity and persistency of business. The limelight this year is focused on the ten lady career underwriters receiving the Gawad Kagitingan distinction.

1st Life President & CEO Peter Coyiuto took pride in the feat of the company producers as he emphasized in his speech that 1st Life"owes its success in wedding agents to the concept of life insurance to the fact that we do not recruit from other companies. " The executive magnified the ideal of life insurance selling in 1st Life's vision - to be the country's leading life insurance company in quality of people, products and services, growth and innovation, adhering to ethical standards in the way we operate our business.

In her keynote speech, Senator Legarda espoused the 1st Life principle as she said "a great company not only cultivates individual initiative but promotes competence and a strong ethical sense in its ranks." Aligning the sentiment to nation-building, Legarda stressed that the challenge to Filipino leaders is "to demonstrate strong initiative, strong competence and strong ethical responsibility for the prospect of our freedom and the progress of our country "

A departure from past Gawad nights, this year's event became a multifold gathering as it also brought upfront the varied international distinction received by 1st Life's underwriters. Special mention went to the lady awardees who qualified to the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the elite association of the world's best sales professionals in the life insurance business. Round Table membership is an exclusive honor that is achieved only by the top 6% career underwriters from 66 nations and territories, representing about 475 life insurance companies globally.

Featured also were the International Quality Award (IQA) recipients from the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association (LIMRA). The IQA annually distinguishes career agents who meet specific production and persistency requirements on a 25-month performance basis. Four ladies were also applauded for their successful entry to 1st Life's Activity Club, the company's annual drive for outstanding performance in terms of activity.

The special evening also introduced the 2002 corporate audio-visual presentation that captured the history of the organization. As in previous awards night, an invited beneficiary relived his experience in testimony of the goodness of life insurance.

 

 

June 2002 Visiting China's Top Insurer

Bee Happy with 1st Life

1st Life becomes the choice insurance provider for the workforce of Jollibeee Foods Corporation, the country's leading fast food chain. May 2002 Bless The Children: A Life Support To Nayon Kids

First Life Financial Company, Inc. (1st Life) receives special recognition for the untiring rehabilitative and developmental support of its charity scheme Bless the Children (BTC) to Nayon ng Kabataan (NK) as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) celebrates its 34 years.

Initiated in 1995, 1st Life's BTC endeavors for several years now to make a difference in the lives of the indigent young cared for at Nayon. In the conclusion of its current campaign that began in September last year, 1st Life President Peter G. Coyiuto, CLU and

Executive Vice President, Jaime M. Santiago, FSA, FASP, handed the check for P100,000.00 to DSWD's Alicia R. Bala, Director - National Capital Region (NCR) and NK's Nelly C. Miranda, head social worker during formal turnover rites in its corporate headquarters in Makati City.

"Bless the Children borne 1st Life's core value of social responsibility to contribute to the well-being of the Philippine society," Coyiuto expressed about the project. He added "we build a legacy by what we believe in, by who we are and by what we do to others. We believe that we will realize in the life insurance business the profound meaning of legacy with the unique opportunity to give back, not only to our clients but to the community at large."

With the contributions from clients and employees, the BTC helps spread the message of hope and joy in living for the young through funds that help uplift the amenities at the shelter. This year's donors are awarded in return for their generosity a one-year personal accident insurance worth P50,000 from Prudential Guarantee Assurance, Inc., a sister company.

1st Life lined up a number of activities with the orphanage during the campaign period including the book drive, dubbed as "Booklat, as kick-off ceremony. Employees and agents shared varied literary materials through this company-wide contribution. A medical mission was also organized in collaboration with the EDSA Shrine free clinic volunteers and Unilab to alleviate the health conditions of the children. The mission group provided much-needed medical and dental consultation and treatment for the children and staff of NK. A Christmas party was also arranged last December involving all Nayon kids and staff who participated in various games.

Feb 2002 Agents Welcome Greatest Insurance Salesman's Progeny

Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Feldman were treated to a special evening with 1st Life officers and agents in a welcome party hosted by top honcho Peter Coyiuto at his residence. Marvin, son of America's icon in insurance salesmanship Ben Feldman, was in town for a presentation in the local life underwriters association's annual gathering last February.
