1st Life President and CEO
Peter Coyiuto, CLU, was elected to serve for three years
as Director of the Life Insurance Marketing Research
Association (LIMRA) Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A. Formal
induction to the Board of Directors of LIMRA was held
at the annual meeting in Walt Disney World, Dolphin
Orlando, Florida, U.S.A. with LIMRA President and CEO
(above left) Richard A. Wecker, CLU, LLIF. LIMRA's policy-making
body oversees the association's operations and is responsible
for
the international membership of 346 companies in North
America and 444 members outside the continent. LIMRA
International is the premier provider of research-based
marketing insight and networking opportunities within
the financial services industry (companies whose business
is the protection, accumulation, and distribution of
assets, and whose product lines include life insurance,
annuities, disability, health, and mutual funds) worldwide.
The organization is also fully involved in developing
and supporting profitable businesses that serve the
industry.

Bless The Children Lauded By DSWD-NCR
First
Life Financial Company, Inc. (1st
Life) was awarded the Department of Social
Welfare and Development-National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR)
plaque of recognition for its Bless the Children (BTC) charity
program. 1st
Life's Executive Vice President, Actuary
and Chief Operating Officer Jaime M. Santiago, FSA, FASP,
acknowledged the award in ceremonies held on the occasion
of the department's 32nd anniversary held at the Haven facility
in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
In the past five years, 1st
Life's BTC charity project was committed
to uplift the level of care for the disadvantaged youth with
special needs housed at Nayon ng Kabataan (National Center
for Youth) with special needs under DSWD-NCR.
Bless the Children began in 1994 with the turnover of an initial
donation of P100,000.00 to the former president Fidel V. Ramos
and past DSWD Secretary Alma de Leon at the Malacañang
Palace. The charity scheme was re-launched in 1997 when 1st
Life hosted several activities like drawing
contests and medical missions and contributed P100,000.00
for the continued development of facilities for the kids at
Nayon. Last year's revival succeeded in collecting another
P100,000.00 for the center. BTC allocated funds through solicitations
to purchase necessities, specialized equipment and professional
training aids that will improve the quality of life of the
children The program Bless the Children charity serves as
1st
Life's answer to the call for social
involvement.
